At Luggala, we are proud of the committed support we are able to give to the community in a variety of ways. We have hosted multiple local and Dublin schools for science and environmental education.  As we grow this work, we hope to serve as a living classroom for students and educators interested in ecological learning and landscape based education. Among our many community engagements,  we support and assist Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue (DWMRT), and we are involved with Roundwood Community Council, for example, having co-funded a community garden.

We also collaborate with multiple international leading academic institutions such as Trinity College Dublin, Yale University and University College Dublin, providing access to the estate for field research, ecological monitoring, and academic study. These partnerships support multi-disciplinary learning and contribute to a deeper understanding of upland ecosystems, land use history, and climate resilience. By offering Luggala as a real-world research setting, we aim to support the next generation of scientists, ecologists, and conservationists.
